To realize our strategic goal of strengthening data use to improve equity and support Indigenous-led data sovereignty, we must create data structures conducive to both the principles of IDEA and the unique and inherent rights of Indigenous people to Indigenous data. With the support of HDRN Canada’s Indigenous Data Team and the IDEA Team, HDRN Canada will promote understanding of Indigenous-informed and IDEA-informed research and contribute to data-related collaborative and trust-building efforts with diverse members of the public including (but not limited to) Indigenous Peoples, people with different racial and ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities, and people with different gender identities.
